- Winner of the Rakuten Technology & Innovation Award Gold Prize -

Linda is the author and illustrator of Hello Ruby, a children’s picture book series about the whimsical world of computers, coding, internet and AI. She's the founder of Rails Girls, a global movement to teach young women programming in over 270 cities. She loves Muji, Zelda Fitzgerald, software and sparkly things. Currently she is a TED Resident in New York.

Her proposed children's book, Hello Ruby, made its debut on Kickstarter and quickly smashed its $10,000 funding goal after just 3.5 hours and gathering 380 000 dollars in total funding. The books have been translated into over 22 languages and so far there have been three books published in the series. Linda believes the best way to introduce programming to children is through compelling storytelling. Having never really outgrown fairytales, she wants to hear more diverse voices in the technology world.

Linda has studied in business, design, and engineering in Aalto University and product engineering in Stanford University. She was selected the 2013 Ruby Hero, won the 1 Million RMB DIA Design Award in China and she’s been selected on lists like Thinkers 20: The Brightest Business Minds of Northern Europe 2016 and 50 most inspiring women in technology in Europe 2015 and 2017. Her TED talk has gathered over 1.5 million views.
