Masako Wakamiya

Masako Wakamiya is Vice President of the Mellow Club and Board Member of the Broadband School Association(NPO) At the age of 60, retired banker Masako Wakamiya (Marchan) was a caregiver for her mother at home. She decided to use a computer to stay connected with her friends & society. She joined a Seniors’ Online Community “Mellow Club” and runs a digital archive of personal experiences as told by those who lived through World War II and the post-war period. Her unique idea to create Excel Art received great reputation at TEDxTokyo 2014. Her first game app for iPhone “Hinadan” was introduced as “Coded by an 81 years old Japanese woman” by the global media. She was invited to WWDC 2017 as the oldest developer in the world. She was appointed as a member of the “Council for the age of 100 year life” by the Cabinet.
